Ayd & Cavanagh

practice serving the needs of people in the Twin Cities.
We use our training, knowledge, compassion, and years of
experience to improve the lives of our clients. Clients
appreciate the warm, private, and nurturing therapeutic
environment we provide. Our goal is to develop a respectful,
trusting partnership with you, as our client.
** Philosophy **
It
is other life; it is love, which gives your life meaning.
This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other,
the joy of challenge, and the joy of growth. ~ Mitsugu
Saotome
Harmony,
joy, growth, love, touch, and beauty are words that evoke
a sense of longing for most of us. We search for those
elements in our lives. We desire a life of purpose, a
life that matters. No matter what stage of life we are
in, we hope that someday we will have the complete package.
Yet, it
is in the process itself that we will find life’s
meaning. It is in developing deeper relationships with ourselves
and others that we become whole. Therapy is one tool for attaining
this state. Janette Ayd, a licensed clinical psychologist and
Molly Cavanagh, a licensed independent clinical social worker
will assist you in finding solutions, overcoming obstacles,
and living the life you want.

At some time everyone needs assistance in dealing
with challenges faced in life. We offer a process-based
approach to therapy. We employ cognitive behavioral
strategies to help our clients change the way they
view the world and, hence, take control of their
actions and behavior.
Balanced with
professionalism and experience, it is our goal
to engender security and ease within clients
through our sincere, down-to-earth, non-judgmental
approach. Therapy is a relationship, and the success
of any therapeutic relationship is based on trust
and mutual respect. You
may be assured that we are dedicated to providing
you with the best service available.

CLIENT
AND PSYCHOTHERAPIST RELATIONSHIP
Therapy
is a dynamic process and should only be entered into
when one is ready to take the necessary steps essential
for change to occur. Dr.
Ayd and Ms. Cavanagh believe therapy is successful
when the relationship between client and psychotherapist
is based on trust and respect. Therefore, both the
client and therapist must feel comfortable working
together.
Playing
an active role in one’s treatment
is an important aspect of psychological, emotional, and
spiritual development. You will be part of assessing
your situation, planning and creating goals and objectives,
and assessing your progress in therapy.
In
order to achieve your goals we encourage:
· Awareness
· Acceptance
· Action
